"Community"" Whole Cloth Quilt
Completed Quilt Displayed during the 5th Annual
Midwest Fiber Arts Trail Cedarburg Spur
Fabric beads were created by attendees to the 2018 Midwest Fiber Arts Trail Cedarburg Spur. Since then, I hand stitched random pieces of fabric onto the whole cloth, and both hand and machine quilted with merging colored threads. Last, the fabric beads were stitched on in little clusters, making up their own little colorful communities.
The finished the quilt - "Community," was displayed at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts during the 2019 Cedarburg Spur.

Coiled Fabric Bowl - Half Day
Create beautiful and unique coiled fabric bowls out of batik fabric or fat quarter strips wrapped tightly round cording.
You'll learn a quick way to slice fabric, how to wrap and secure the fabric in place, and how to stitch the fabric coil.
You'll finish your bowl with a twisted coil and maybe buttons, beads, charms or more. This is a good project to upcycle textiles!
Will teach how to make a round or heart-shaped bowl.
Gelli® Printing - Half Day
This fun and easy hands-on workshop will introduce participants to basic monoprinting techniques using Gelli® Arts printing plates. These monoprints can easily be incorporated into printmaking, collage, art journaling, and mixed media projects. It takes no time at all to create interesting prints by using texture tools, stencils, stamps and more with acrylic paints.
Monoprinting on a Gelli plate is simple and fun. The gratification is immediate, and the prints are cool! Participants will print on fabric and paper.
Crazy Quilting - Full Day
Crazy Quilting as a textile art is extremely creative and free-flowing. In this workshop, you will learn about embroidery, embellishments and the “crazy quilting” itself. Crazy quilting is a patchwork technique where random shaped fabric pieces are stitched to a foundation fabric. Everyone will piece and sew together one block. Then we will add embroidery and embellishments to the block. There is an endless variety of ways to embroider. Ribbon, lace, braids, buttons, beads and charms will be added for dimension and beauty to the crazy quilt block.
Stitch & Slash - Full Day
This creative technic has "no rules and no mistakes." In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to raw edge cutwork, a vibrant form of surface design. Using learned methods, you'll reveal amazing patterns, colors, shapes and dynamics. We will start with ideas about choosing the right fabrics, colors and values. You'll layer, stitch, then rip for stunning results. Have a blast as you stitch and slash!
Students will need a sewing machine.
Tactile Textile - Two Days
Taking a piece of pretty patterned fabric or a tapestry, learn to embroider over the design, highlighting selected details. Stitches could include French knots and various feather, blanket, satin, and filling stitches.
Embroidered lines created with needle and thread will completely transform the fabric, adding texture and dimension. Finished embroidered fabric can be used for pillows, hand towels, other home decor and purses.
Delightful Felted Ornaments
